Acquisition

Purpose-led business Efficient Building Solutions has grown its UK network of local renewable energy experts by acquiring Eco East Anglia Renewables.

The Colchester-based company is Efficient Building Solutions' third low-carbon and renewable technology acquisition in the last two years, following York-based Go Eco Renewables and Daventry-based Bright Green Renewables. The business will now begin a process to rebrand to Green Building Renewables in alignment with the other two companies.

Green Building Renewables offers a complete range of renewable energy solutions through its growing network of local experts; it provides low carbon and renewable energy solutions, including air and ground source heat pumps, underfloor heating, solar PV, EV charging, and battery storage. GBR's network currently includes offices in York, Doncaster, Daventry and Wellingborough and now, with its expansion into East Anglia, adds an office in Colchester.

The expansion of Green Building Renewables is part of its growth plans to acquire like-minded renewables businesses to create a network of local renewable energy experts across mainland Britain. It now has over 50 staff working across its five offices with a revenue of over £10 million.

Efficient Building Solutions CEO Philip Fellowes-Prynne said,

"Eco East Anglia Renewables is another fantastic addition to Green Building Renewables. It allows us to offer our award-winning customer service and renewable energy knowledge to customers in East Anglia. It demonstrates our commitment to creating the UK's best network of low-carbon and renewable technology installation experts.

Philip added:

"With so much uncertainty around the cost of energy and the continued impacts of the climate crisis, people are looking for more efficient and cleaner ways to heat and power their homes. It's our ambition to create a network of high-quality renewable technology specialists across the UK that will allow as many people as possible to decide to choose renewable energy. Eco East Anglia Renewables joining the Green Building Renewables team is the next step in that journey."

Eco East Anglia Renewables was founded by Robert Walmsley and Phil Strickland and has over ten years' experience in delivering renewable technology to customers in East Anglia.

Robert and Phil said:

"This is an exciting development for us and allows us to become part of something even bigger. Over the last ten years, we've worked hard to create a strong reputation for our services and products in the region and this investment is a reward for the hard work of us and all our team. The renewable energy sector continues to grow in the UK, and being a part of the Green Building Renewables' network allows us to share our expertise and knowledge and, most importantly, help more people to lower their environmental footprints and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels by choosing renewable technologies."

Green Building Renewables has a team of qualified, experienced engineers with NICEIC, Gas Safe, OFTEC registration, MCS installer certification and membership of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC).

Managing Director at Green Building Renewables, Chris Delaney, added:

"It's great to have Robert, Phil and their team join ours. They bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of the renewable industry and open up an entirely new region to Green Building Renewables. We are dedicated to leading the UK's transformation to low carbon and renewable technology and are excited about what we can achieve together."
